Tornimparte

Tornimparte is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 3159 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of L' Aquila in the Abruzzo region. The community is located about 10 kilometers southwest of L' Aquila and is part of the Comunità montana Amiternina. Tornimparte is immediately adjacent to the province of Rieti. The administrative headquarters is located in the district of Villa Grande.

History

The name of the municipality, which was probably already inhabited in pre-Christian times by the Sabines, is derived from the Latin Turres in Partibus.

Traffic

Through the village leads the Autostrada A24 from L' Aquila to Rome.
