Toronto Rock

Toronto Rock is a team of North American National Lacrosse League ( NLL ), based in Toronto. The franchise was founded in 1998 in Hamilton ( Ontario ) and Ontario Raiders; after it was bought by an Assistant Director-General of the Hockey Teams Toronto Maple Leafs, it was moved to Toronto in 1999.

Achievements

After moving to Toronto in 1999, the team could equal the Champion 's Cup, the Champions Trophy the NLL win. The team became a constant contender for the championship and stood from 1999 to 2003 five times in a row in the final and won the Champion 's Cup in 1999, 2000, 2002 and 2003.

2004 retired Toronto Rock in the finals of the Eastern Division, but won the fifth league title then in the 2005 season. The jubilation over the Champion 's Cup but broke off very quickly as the former coach of the team, Les Bartley, of the team in the first five seasons had trained, less than 18 hours later died of cancer at the age of 51 years.

The worst season of its existence it had in 2006 when they finished only third place in the Eastern Division after the regular season and were eliminated already in the division semifinals.

With five league titles they are the most successful Canadian team at the MILL / NLL history. Only the Philadelphia Wings have been more successful with six titles in the entire history of the league.
