Torrazza Coste

Torrazza Coste is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1715 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012 ) in the Province of Pavia in Lombardy. The municipality is situated approximately 24 km south-southwest of Pavia in the Po at Pavese and belongs to the Comunità Montana Po at Pavese.

History

Remains of a temple of Diana show that the former Roman settlement of some importance was. In a diploma of Frederick I in the 12th century it is mentioned as Turris Centum costarum.

Traffic

The former railway station of Torrazza Coste was on the railway line Voghera - Varzi, until it was closed in 1966.
