Torre Mayor

The Torre Mayor (Eng. " main tower " or " Largest Tower " ) is a skyscraper in the Mexican capital Mexico City. The top ( 55th ) floor is at a height of 225.60 m; is expected to tip the building, it reaches a height of 228 m. Thus, the Torre Mayor is the tallest building in Mexico.

The building is located on the Paseo de la Reforma, one of the main boulevards of the city, and bears the number 505; at this point was previously the Cine Chapultepec. The construction of the Torre Mayor was commissioned by the Canadian company Reichmann International. Construction began in 1999.

Given the seismic hazard of the city - a quake of magnitude 8.1 in 1985, many thousands of deaths had demanded - had to be organized in a way that earthquake-proof skyscraper.
