Torrent (Valencia)

Torrent ( Torrente Spanish ) is the largest city in the comarca Huerta Oeste and the third largest of the Spanish autonomous community of Valencia. It has 80 759 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013) is located 9 km away from Valencia city center and is connected to it via the Metro Valencia. It is the capital of the Mancomunidad Intermunicipal de l' Horta Sud.

The Amigonianer, a Roman Catholic religious order, were founded on 12 April 1889 by the Spanish Capuchin Father Luis Amigo in Torrent.
