Torreys Peak

The Torreys Peak is a mountain in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains region in the U.S. state of Colorado. With its 4,349 meters above sea level it is one of the 54 so-called " Fourteeners " in Colorado, the mountains above 14,000 feet ( 4,267 m) altitude.
The first ascent was made in 1861 by the botanist Charles C. Parry, who named the mountain after his colleague, John Torrey.
The Torreys Peak is located on the Continental Divide in the immediate vicinity of Grays Peak. Interstate 70 passes just a few miles away.
