Torri del Benaco

Torri del Benaco (Latin castrum turrium ) is a municipality with 2954 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) on the eastern shore of Lake Garda. It lies on the Gardesana Orientale.

History

In the 15th century Torri del Benaco received a special meaning: The municipality was appointed to the headquarters of " Gardesana Acqua " by the Doge of Venice. This was an alliance of ten municipalities for independent administration and to prevent smuggling to the western shore of the lake.

Attractions
