Torsion ( derived from French and Latin ( torsion, late latin torquere after Latin, Tortum ) ) stands for issues that are associated with a ( inter) rotation:

Winding ( geometry), the characteristic of a three-dimensional curve or surface, departing from the plane or a convex shape
Torsion ( algebra), a phenomenon that can multiples of an element in a module equal to 0
