Torsten Gowitzke

Torsten Gowitzke ( born January 8, 1967) is a former German football player and coach.

Career

Playing career

Torsten Gowitzke played in youth among others at Hertha Zehlendorf, before in 1985 he signed his first professional contract with Hertha BSC. When Hertha Gowitzke was in the 2nd Bundesliga at first -team regular. At the end of the season Hertha rose for the first time from the low ranks. The following league game time Hertha dominated at will and lost only on the final day at VfB Neukölln. Gowitzke himself played in 26 of 30 games, only Heiko Meier has recorded more bets. In the promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga Gowitzke was in all eight games in action, but missed by a defeat in the last game against BVL 08 Remscheid direct resurgence. 1987/88 Hertha could defend the league title success and rise after the promotion round together with Eintracht Braunschweig. In 1998, Gowitzke as coach of the SCC in the fifth division of Berlin for one and a half years. In 2006, he was there again coach for half a year.

Private

Torsten Gowitzke still plays regularly in the old men's team of SFC Stern 1900.
