Torsten Müller

Torsten Müller ( born July 12, 1962 in Kassel, Germany ) is a German agricultural scientist at the University of Hohenheim. He is Chairman of the Audit and Registration Committee of the European Master's program Organic Agriculture and Food Systems and dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences in Hohenheim.

Life

Attending school in Kassel joined an agricultural training with successful agricultural trainees exam in 1981. The study of Agricultural Sciences ( study crop production ) at the Georg- August University in Göttingen Müller graduated in 1983 with agricultural Ausbildereigungsprüfung (1986) graduated as an agricultural engineer in 1989 and Doctor of Sc agr 1992.

This was followed by training as a " European Expert in Environmental Conservation " at the Environmental Protection Service in Münster (1992-1993); he was Assistant and Associate Professor at the Laboratory of Plant Nutrition and Soil Health of Agricultural Faculty of the Royal Veterinary and Agriculture College (now Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Copenhagen) (1993-2000 ) and Research Associate in the Department of Soil Biology and Plant Nutrition, University of Kassel, Witzenhausen ( organic Agricultural Sciences ) (2001-2004); Habilitation ( venia legendi of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science ), University of Kassel ( 2004). In 2004 he accepted an appointment as professor of fertilization with soil chemistry in the Institute of Plant Nutrition ( now Institute of Crop Science ) at the University of Hohenheim.

Research and Publications

Müller is on the one hand in the research tradition of classical plant nutrition and fertilization teaching, on the other hand he tries to answer current questions of food production at the anticipated climate change. He is a sought-after speaker at many agricultural scientific congresses and member of the Biofector governing body; together with his staff, he has authored nearly 100 publications in recent years. .
