Torsten Palm

Torsten Palm (* July 23, 1947 in Kristinehamn ) is a former Swedish racing driver.

After early years in rallying, where he was traveling with a private Volvo, joined Palm in 1969 on the racetrack and got into Formula 3. Along with Ronnie Peterson and Freddy Kottulinsky he won in 1970 for Sweden the Formula 3 European Cup for national teams.

1973 Palm rented a factory Surtees in order to contest some races for the Formula 2 European Championship. At the race in Karlskoga, he reached the third place. The next year he moved to GRD, a British manufacturer of Formula 3 and Formula 2 racing car, and drove the works car. In 1975, he also dabbled in Formula 1 At home race in Anderstorp he put a Hesketh 308 and was two laps behind the winner Niki Lauda in the Ferrari 312T tenth.

At the end of the season he retired from racing and managed in the 1970s and 1980s, his compatriot Eje Elgh.
