TortoiseSVN

TortoiseSVN (of tortoise [ tɔ təs ː ] in English: Tortoise, abbreviated tsvn ) is a free client for the version management utility Subversion. It is under the GNU General Public License ( GPL) and used in the logo is a turtle.

TortoiseSVN is implemented as a shell extension, it integrates in the Windows Explorer and is therefore outside and independently of an Integrated Development Environment ( IDE) used.

The project was started in 2002 by Tim Kemp as a fork of TortoiseCVS. SourceForge recorded more than seven million downloads of the software in August 2008. Functions
