Toshiba Samsung Storage Technology

The joint venture TSST (Toshiba Samsung Storage Technology Cooperation) was founded in 2004. Toshiba holds 51 percent, Samsung the remaining 49 percent. TSST has its headquarters in Kawasaki ( Kanagawa ), Japan and Suwon, Korea, and combining the planning, development, sourcing and distribution partners.

In August 2004, the first DVD -ROM drive has been put on the market. Since that time, the joint venture has occurred as a supplier of CD and DVD drives and burners. So far, the line of TSST was rather designed for Toshiba's corporate strategy. For example, brought a slim HD DVD drive for notebook on the market in September 2007.
