Toshinari Suwa

Toshinari Suwa (Japanese诹 访 利 成, Suwa Toshinari; born January 29, 1977 in Isesaki, Gunma Prefecture) is a Japanese long- distance runner who specializes in the marathon distance.

Making its debut at the Nagano Marathon in 2001, he finished in 2:16:18 hours in second place. The following year he improved to fourth in the Lake Biwa Marathon in 2:09:10 h 2003 he was at the Fukuoka Marathon in a personal best of 2:07:55 h on a tight behind his compatriot Tomoaki Kunichika second.

At the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004, he finished in 2:13:24 h in sixth place. He was the London Marathon seventh in 2:10:23 h and 2006 fourth at the Fukuoka Marathon in 2:08:52 h 2005 At the World Athletics Championships 2007 in Osaka, he reached under difficult climatic conditions in 2:18:06 h seventh place just behind his compatriots Tsuyoshi Ogata and Satoshi Ōsaki. The Japanese team won by a wide margin the World Cup standings.

2008 Suwa was in 2:09:16 h fourth in the Tokyo Marathon and eighth in the Berlin Marathon in 2:13:04 h

Toshinari Suwa is 1,78 m tall and has a competition weight of 58 kg. He starts Foods for the company team of food company Nissin.
