Toshirō Mutō

Toshirō Muto (Japanese武 藤 敏 郎, Muto Toshirō; born July 2, 1943 in Urawa (now Urawa -ku, Saitama ) ) was from 2003 to 2008 Deputy Governor (副 総 裁, fuku - Sosai ) of the Bank of Japan ( BoJ). Previously, he was a civil servant in the Ministry of Finance. He graduated from the University of Tokyo.

Nomination for governor of the BoJ

In February 2008, the government of Yasuo Fukuda Muto nominated as successor by Toshihiko Fukui as governor of the BoJ, whose term of office expired on 19 March 2008.
