Totally Integrated Automation

Totally Integrated Automation ( TIA) is an organizational concept of the manufacturer Siemens, which was introduced in 1996 and further developed since then. In the current Siemens organization, it is the responsibility of the Siemens Industry Sector division.

This concept defines the interaction of various automation technology components, software tools and related services ( spare parts service, etc. ) to an integrated automation solution. TIA enables continuity over the four automation levels of the automation pyramid:

The integration of TIA provides the companies involved in the value chain (OEM, system integrators, specifiers and end-user ) is a simplification and cost savings.
