Totonac people

Totonac ( Nahuatl: "People from the hot land") or Tachiwin (also Tachihuiin ) totonakischsprachigen the inhabitants of the central Gulf Coast of Mexico are called. While Totonaca is the given name of the Aztecs, they call themselves Tachiwin.

History

Often them the origins of the classic Gulf Coast cultures were (eg, El Tajín ) attributed, as they populated these areas at the time of the Spanish conquest of Mexico.
