Tour Areva

The Tour Areva ( previously Tour Framatome and Tour Fiat ) is a 184 meter tall skyscraper in the skyscraper district of La Défense in Courbevoie, west of Paris and the headquarters of the eponymous French nuclear group. The building in the shape of a cuboid was opened in 1974 and is the second tallest building in La Défense, after the Tour Total Coupole. The all-black facade is made of dark granite and tinted windows. It is said that the architects were from the black monolith in Stanley Kubrick's film 2001: A Space Odyssey inspired.

Originally twin towers should be built on the site of Tour Areva, the plan was after the oil crisis in 1974 but discarded.
