Tour de Berne

The Tour de Berne or Tour de Berne is a Swiss race for men, which is carried out in the canton of Bern since 1921. Originally the race was called " Northwest Swiss Tour "; In 1992, the race was renamed " Tour de Berne " and takes place in Lyss since 2001.

The " Northwest Swiss Tour " was organized from the start for professionals and amateurs. Since 1968, additional categories for beginners, amateurs and others were set up. As of 2003, an Everyman Event (Zeeland Classic), in addition to the license races held. First time in 1984, the Tour de Berne for women was held. In 2005, the elite races for men belonged to the UCI Europe Tour in category 1.1. After a break of two years now, the Tour de Berne 2013 is new again internationally. The race of the Elite International Men is part of the UCI Europe Tour in category 1.2.

The route is approximately 169.75 kilometers long and has a difference in altitude of 2100 meters.
