Tow Ubukata

Tow Ubukata (Japanese冲 方 丁, Ubukata Tō; born 14 February 1977 in Gifu Prefecture ) is a Japanese writer and screenwriter of anime.

Biography

Because he wanted to be a writer, Ubukata took after graduating from high school in 1996 in a contest by Kadokawa Shoten and won it with Kuroi Kisetsu. He then studied at Waseda University and worked from 1997 in the gaming industry. Together with the illustrator Mami Itō he produced in 2001 the Pilgrim Hunter Manga. He left the university without a degree.

In 2003 he won the 24th Japan Science Fiction Grand Prize for Mardock Scramble. His novel Chaos Legion was based on a video game by Capcom of the same title. In addition, he was nominated in 2003 for Madoromi no Sefiroto, 2004 for Mardock Scramble and 2007 for Mardock Velocity for the Seiun price.

He worked on the manga and anime Le Chevalier D' Eon. He wrote the script of the manga and participated in the drafting of the story of the anime and the screenplay. Both versions strongly differ from each other in the plot.
