Tower Hill

Tower Hill is a survey northwest of the Tower of London between the municipalities City of London and the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. In the late Middle Ages, the area had its own jurisdiction and was under the administration of the Tower of London.

Excavations indicate an early settlement of the hill as early as the Bronze Age. In Roman times, a settlement that was burnt down during the Boudicca Revolt 60-61 AD was born.

The church of All Hallows -by-the - Tower is known for its partly Romanesque architecture, which has been dated back to the year 680.
