Tower testing station

A Freileitungsmastprüfanlage is a special equipment for testing the static strength of pylons. A Freileitungsmastprüfanlage consists of two steel frames and one or more foundations on which a pattern of test electric power pylon can be established. By mounted to the steel scaffolding ropes that are performed on the steel scaffolding towards examining masts, the masts can to compressive and tensile forces are stressed and their behavior are determined by appropriate measurement techniques.

Prior to the erection of the adjacent BBC Mastprüfanlage in Mannheim- Neckarau the German composite Society ( DVG ) took headquartered in Heidelberg in the 1950s at a test site near Mannheim -Rheinau strength tests on high voltage pylons in front, with the masts were burdened by train to twisting. The pictures show such approved high voltage pylons in February 1958.
