Towner County is a county located in the state of North Dakota in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Cando.

Geography

The County is located just east of northern North Dakota, bordering Canada and has an area of ​​2698 square kilometers, of which 44 square kilometers are water surface. It borders in the United States clockwise to the following counties: Cavalier County, Ramsey County, Benson County, Pierce County and Rolette County.

History

Towner County was formed in 1883. It was named after Oscar M. Towner.
