Toyota Auris
The Toyota Auris is a car of the Japanese manufacturer Toyota. He is the successor of the then existing 40 years built Toyota Corolla and a representative of the compact class.
From the size of the Auris between the subcompact Yaris and Avensis assigns a medium-sized car.
The name Auris is derived from the Latin word aurum for gold ' and was developed by the agency name noun International Germany. In non-European countries, the Corolla instead of the Auris often continue to be offered, sometimes under the name Corolla, the Auris. The name change took place primarily for marketing reasons, because it was determined in surveys that the name Corolla is often associated by European consumers with an unattractive, old-fashioned and not desirable car.

The Auris ( factory code: E150 ) was presented in December 2006 at the motor show in Bologna and was available on the German market from 3 March 2007.
The first generation was designed for the European market except in the two Toyota plants in Turkey, built and United Kingdom ( Burnaston, Derbyshire ), where the predecessor Corolla was manufactured in Japan ( Kanegasaki ) ( Adapazarı TMMT ). The design was created in Toyota's European design studios in France.
In Japan, the Auris was also offered in a luxury version called Blade. The Blade has the basic body of the Auris, but differs from the latter by a modified front ( wider inter alia xenon headlights) and rear ( broadened into the tailgate LED tail lights, modified rear window). In addition, the interior has been enhanced by the use of Alcantara (among other things on the dashboard - top). The blade is powered by a 2.4 - liter four- cylinder that makes 123 kW (167 hp). In addition, with the Blademaster a version with 3.5 -liter V6 in the offering, making 206 kW (280 hp).

Facelift and full hybrid
Toyota presented at the IAA in Frankfurt in September 2009, a full hybrid version of the Toyota Auris HSD Auris ( for Hybrid Synergy Drive), which as of September 2010 under the name Auris Hybrid was available in Europe. According to the manufacturer it reaches an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 10 seconds, can be operated in four different modes (Normal, ECO, POWER and EV mode ) - in the latter, purely electric mode, up to 2 km at a maximum of 50 km / h In mixed mode, the CO2 emissions was less than 100 g / km.
In March 2010, the Auris has received a facelift in advance, which can be seen among other things, the revised front and rear end.
In the fall of 2012, production of the Auris E150 has been discontinued.

Specifications
For the second generation of the Auris at market launch, five different engines to choose from, have all been taken from the previous and only slightly revised: two gasoline engines, a hybrid engine and two diesel engines. All engines meet the Euro -5 emissions standard.
The force is always transmitted through the front wheels. Is fitted as standard in all models, a 6- speed manual transmission, the hybrid model, however, a continuously variable automatic transmission is used. In Germany was advertised with a hitherto unique promotion for the Toyota Auris: 27 different designs were glued on 23 February 2007 in 82 cities with over 100,000 inhabitants on numerous billboards and covered multi-part billboards. The largest poster campaign was developed in Germany by the Düsseldorf agencies BMZ more and Zenith Media. Besides, many different motifs were represented and marginalized groups considered.
The magazine Stern contained in the output of 8 September 2010 only advertising for the Auris Hybrid by Toyota. This is the first time in the history of German Magazine that a single advertiser an entire issue filled with its advertising.
The first 100 models (car number plate AUR IS as a means letters ) applied in the East Frisian district of Aurich. These cars were used for advertising photographs, presentations and as test models for the media.
