Toyota Avanza (after facelift)
The Toyota Avanza ( in Indonesia and China, Daihatsu Xenia (Chinese:花粉 直 感) ) is a small van that was constructed in Indonesia, led by Toyota and is also built there, as well as in Malaysia. The car was presented at the Motor Show in Gaikindo 2003 and since then more than 100,000 units a year are sold. The name Avanza is borrowed from Italian, where Avanzato progressive means.
The Avanza is a new model that Dario Terios replaced with the more luxurious the Innova 's Prayer and in China.
Except in Indonesia and Malaysia, the Avanza in Lebanon, Bangladesh, Thailand, the Philippines, South Africa, Mexico and China will be offered.
The car is a small Van with 5 doors and rear wheel drive. Two engines are available: a 1.3 -liter R4 with 92 bhp (67 kW) at 6000 min -1 and a 1.5-liter 109 bhp R4 (80 kW) at 6,000 rpm also -1.
2004 came out a special edition of Avanza, which was equipped with the more powerful engine with variable valve timing ( VVTi ) and automatic transmission. Only 200 copies were made .
End of the third quarter of 2006, the Avanza was revised and got a new grille, new bumpers, a new interior and new headlights and taillights. The new model New Avanza S also has a new engine, again a 1.5-liter R4, but with two overhead camshafts ( DOHC) and variable valve timing ( VVTi ) - as with the Rush - plus ABS.
In Malaysia, there is the Avanza 1.5 G as a model with automatic transmission and 1.3 as a model E with manual or automatic transmission.
In the Philippines, the Avanza has been since 2006 in two trim levels: As a model J with 1.3 l engine r4 without power windows and door locks, and only with manual transmission and a model G with 1.5-liter R4 engine, with electrical power windows and door locks, and either with a manual 5 -speed gearbox or 4-stage automatic transmission. The Avanza 2008 received a new headliner with guide channels for better supply of fresh air into the back of the car and new interior colors.
Daihatsu Xenia
The sister model called the Avanza Daihatsu Xenia, the only Daihatsu model for which there are two engines: the 1.3 -liter R4 with electronic fuel injection from the Avanza (see above) and a 1.0 liter engine with an output R3- of 63 bhp (46 kW) at 5600 min-1 and a torque of 92 Nm at 3600 min -1.
In China, Daihatsu brought together with the FAW Xenia out on 21 June 2007. The production runs at FAW Jilin Auto. This Daihatsu Xenia has the same engines as the Avanza, which are supplied by Astra Daihatsu Motor in Malaysia. The interior was designed by FAW. Already in 2010 ended the cooperation between Daihatsu and FAW.
Currently, the Daihatsu Xenia is only sold in Indonesia.
