Toyota Fortuner

The Toyota Fortuner is a SUV that is produced by the Japanese car manufacturer Toyota for some markets in Asia, Africa and South America.

The Fortuner is built in South Africa, Thailand and South America, and is based on the well-established Pickup Hilux. It has three rows of seats and is available with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The Fortuner is part of Toyota's IMV project in Thailand, which also includes the Hilux and the Innova in Indonesia. The car was designed in Thailand by Thai and Japanese engineers.

Malaysia

The Fortuner is sold in Malaysia in two versions, a 2.7 V and 2.5 G.

The 2.7 V has an inline four- cylinder engine with 16 valves, double overhead camshaft (DOHC ) and variable valve timing ( VVTi ), develops 160 bhp (118 kW) at 5,200 min -1 and delivers a maximum torque of 241 Nm at 3,800 min -1. It is equipped with a 4- speed automatic with ECT.

The 2.5 G has a series of four-cylinder turbo diesel engine with dual overhead camshafts ( DOHC), makes 102 bhp (75 kW) at 3,600 min -1 and has a maximum torque of 260 Nm at 1600-2400 min -1. Originally there was only the 2.5 G with five-speed manual, but since the facelift in 2009 a 4 - speed automatic is delivered.

Philippines
