The Toyota LiteAce is a pickup truck from Toyota. It was built in different body styles: panel vans, panel vans with windows, station wagon, van and pickup truck. The trim levels therefore would allow different uses, from simple craftsmen - vans to the comfortable minibus with seating for eight people. From 1971 to 1982, the truck and van versions were also produced as Daihatsu Delta 750. Since 1996, the current model is produced as a Daihatsu Delta Wagon and Derutaban.
Was driven the LiteAce of petrol and diesel engines from 1.3 to 2.2 liters. There were engines of the K- series (3K to 5K -C, gasoline petrol engines with a seitlichliegenden camshaft with timing chain ), motors of Y series (petrol engines with 2 to 2.2 liters of displacement, carburettor or multipoint fuel injection, valve control with roller chain ) and engines in the C- series ( swirl chamber diesel engines with distributor injection pump ( Bosch license ), valve control with timing belt, with and without turbo). The dual-circuit brake system has been arranged so that in case of failure of a brake circuit, the braking performance was secured at both front wheels. The brake hoses and brake pistons of the front axle were performed in duplicate, one brake circuit is also supplied depending on the load the brakes on the rear axle.
Advantages of the Toyota Liteace were robust and undemanding technology and despite compact external dimensions very spacious interior. Due to the short wheelbase, the turning circle was very small and by the elevated seating position, the vehicle was handled well.
With the model change of 1996, the Liteace of the European model range, Toyota's disappeared. In other countries continue Liteace were sold, but not more than Cabover, but with hood.
