Until the construction of the Intercontinental Warsaw TP SA was Tower the building with the deepest basement of Warsaw. The lining of the object consisting mainly of glass, at the bottom of polished stone slabs were assembled. It was an attempt to build on top of the building a viewing platform, as that would have been located on the 31st floor of the Palace of Culture around 10 meters higher. The tower would have - so you can be a tourist attraction - even with the use of the inclined elevator.

In addition to the office floors in the building, there are also some apartments, two restaurants, a bar, a large telephone exchange for 60,000 compounds was the main user installed.

Special

The TP SA Tower has some structural features. So it was built because of the narrowness of the to tilling the land in the " top-down " technique of in the cellar - like upper floors of a base plate, occur simultaneously. He was the first skyscraper in Warsaw, where this method was applied. What is striking is the on the south facade obliquely upward current, glass elevator. He moves with a speed of 2.5 meters per second on a wedge-shaped, style similar to the building face. In addition to this elevator communicate seven elevators in the building.

On the roof is - even from evacuation reasons in case of fire - a helipad, so no antenna system could be built here. Another oddity: The building has not as such designated 13th floor. At the request of TP SA staff follows the floor 12 directly the 14th floor.

During the excavation a 580 kg heavy artillery shell from World War II was found at a depth of 8 meters. In the Polish TV series " 39 i pół " ( Comedy of the station TVN ), the tower served as the seat of the Fester company.
