Traditional Chinese bookbinding

Japan binding is a term from the bookbinding industry.

This binding method spread from China to East Asia.

It is a type of binding in which the sheets are printed on one side only and be bound folded in half. It consists of the front quarter of closed arcs, in which only the outer sides are printed. This approach can be produced in low volume content. It also prevents show-through of the motifs on the back.

The leaves are also tied together with threads are clearly visible externally. It is through sewn vertically from above, without the paper to fold in advance through the pad of paper. The paper then gets a crease edge.
