Traditional music

The term Traditional (English ) in the narrower sense, the Anglo-Saxon or Celtic version of the folk song. Likewise, a particular type of Anglo-Saxon folk dance is called Traditional.

In particular, in recent years, the term is also used for traditional folk songs from other countries. The terms folk music previously used, folklore, and folk music are becoming increasingly occupied with the meaning of the commercialized music genre Folk and Popular music. The use of the term to clarify that unlike a Traditional Folk originated mostly much older and more original and the cause of the people. Traditionals are therefore basically public domain. Scarborough Fair, for example, is an English traditional, newly interpreted by Simon and Garfunkel and other artists.

Even though the American culture has developed only later, now count in everyday language and the American folk songs such as Oh, Susannah (I Come From Alabama) or Gospels as Michael, Row the Boat Ashore to the traditionals.
