Trammer See

The Trammer lake is located north of Plön and belongs to the municipalities Plön and Rathjensdorf. The lake is partly privately owned and partly owned by the state of Schleswig -Holstein.

The lake is characterized by its relatively large depth of relatively nutrient-poor ( oligotrophic ).

In the lake there are three uninhabited islands. The largest of these islands is named Groter Warder.

Recreation

With a shoreline length of 7.9 kilometers, the lake, partly just off the shore, hike around comfortably. From Parnaßturm in Plon, which lies on the route, a beautiful view over the lake and the wider environment opens. By the lake there are several swimming holes ( in Plön and Trammplatz ).

In spring and early summer, from a platform that has been set up by the project group Eagle Protection in Schleswig -Holstein, sea eagles in their eyrie be observed (access from Rathjensdorf ).
