History

The association Tramway Museum Graz in 1971 by the building officer hc DI Erwin Franz (1915-2010) founded. His great ancestor was the builder of Electrical Railways Graz - Maria Trost which later became the tram line 1 emerged that here was the last stop. 1983 moved to its present location of the Tramway Museum.

At present, the museum houses, among many small objects 40 historic cars, the oldest dating back to 1873.

The 566er

One of these historic cars is the Achtachser 566 The articulated railcar 566 was built in 1954 by the DUEWAG than four axles and provided by the Wuppertal transport companies in service under the company number 1007. Its original color was cream-colored with chrome green trim below the window line and gray roof.

1960, the car was then rebuilt by the DÜWAG to Achtachser. In this case, the car was cut apart at the center, extended and supplemented by the central part plus two bogies. At the windows, the different components are clearly visible. The car was placed under the operation number 8013 in the same color back into service. In 1978 a renumbering of the car and from 8013 was 3813th

By 1980 his appearance changed radically: it was painted orange and got a blue trim below the window line. The roof was painted blue. Bogies and pantographs remained gray. So he performed his duty until 30 May 1987.
