Tranemo Municipality

Tranemo is a municipality (Swedish kommun ) in the Swedish province of Västra Götaland County and the historic province of Västergötland. The main town of the municipality is Tranemo.

History

The local government reform of 1952 were from the surrounding parishes ( socks ), the four large municipalities Dalstorp, Limmared, Länghem and Tranemo formed. These large communities were merged in 1974 to today's church.

Prior to the merger of Älvsborgs County, Skaraborgs Göteborgs och Bohus Lan and Lan to Västra Götaland County Tranemo belonged to the province Älvsborgs longer.

In the village there is also " Torpa Stenhus ", a castle from the late 15th century.

An early successful sports club in the community is the Tranemo IF.
