Transcription factor II A

The transcription factor IIA ( TFIIA ) is a protein complex in the nucleus of the jaw mouths. TFIIA is part of the pre-initiation complex, which is necessary for initiation of transcription for the exact positioning of the RNA polymerase II at the beginning of the gene. In particular, TFIIA enters into a bond with TFB (part of TFIID ) and can thus regulate the transcriptional activity.

TFIIA is composed of two subunits with 376 and 109 amino acids in length, the second is evolutionarily older and can be found even in simple eukaryotes.
