Transdanubian Mountains
The Hungarian Central Mountains is a collective term for the mountain ranges up to 750 m above sea level. Adria in Transdanubia, which extend in the northeast-southwest direction, the Great Hungarian Plain separate from the Little Hungarian Plain.
On the Danube Bend in Visegrad Northern Hungarian Mountain borders on as part of the Carpathians region.
Structure
For Hungarian Transdanubian Central Mountains are to count (highest elevations in brackets ):
- Bakony Északi - Bakony ( Nordbakony ) ( Koris -hegy, 704 m) Bakonyalja
- Magas or Oreg - Bakony
- Keleti - Bakony ( Ostbakony )
- Dunazug Highlands Buda Hills ( Janos -hegy / Johannesberg 558 m)
- Gerecse Mountains ( 633 m)
- Pili ( 756 m)
- Vertes Mountains ( Körtvélyes, 480 m)
- Velencei Mountains ( Meleg -hegy, 351 m)
The Visegrád Mountains already belongs to the Northern Hungarian Central Mountains.
Waters
South of the Bakony Balaton is located ( Balaton ). To the east, drain the rivers Sárvíz and Válivíz south. To the west of the Bakony the river Marcal drained to the north.
