Transeuropa (Theater festival)

Transeuropa is a European theater and performance festival for the young scene. It takes place every three years since 1994 in Hildesheim instead, next time in the early summer of 2012.

Transeuropa is a theater and performance festival, which has established itself in recent years in the European theater scene. It shows young innovative productions of young European artists from theater, dance and performance.

The centerpiece of the festival are the international co-productions. In Hildesheim offers transeuropa young European artists space for intensive study of a selected topic, and experimental forms. transeuropa networks the European theater scene in East and West, North and South, by giving structural standard and content exchange theater practitioners a forum.

Guest performances from Germany and Europe make current trends and structures of European theater visible. transeuropa is a springboard for young artists and platform for the detection of new aesthetic and discursive developments. The festival is organized by the transeuropa eV and is held in cooperation with the University of Hildesheim and its degree programs in applied cultural studies. History

In the 1990s, after the opening of the borders in Europe, presented transeuropa links between East and West here.
