Transvaal Park

Transvaal Park (Russian Трансвааль Парк ) was an adventure and leisure in Moscow. It was in the Jassenewo district, in the Southwest Administrative District of the Russian capital.

The collapse of the roof construction on 14 February 2004, the building was destroyed, at least 28 people, including eight children, were killed. At the time of the collapse of the celebration of a child's birthday took place in a swimming pool. The cause of the accident construction defects were accepted.

The building was built to plans, inter alia, the Russian engineer Nodar Kancheli. The end of 2006 was inaugurated at the beginning of the reconstruction work on the site of a memorial chapel for the victims of the hall collapse. In 2008 the opening of the new Transvaal farm is planned with attached spa hotel.

Nodar Kancheli was also the architect of collapsed on 23 February 2006 Basmanny market hall in Moscow. The cause of the accident in which 66 people died, according to the authorities design defects were accepted.
