Transverse cervical artery
The transverse cervical artery or arteria transversa colli is an artery of the neck, which rises from the thyrocervical trunk normally. You can also arise independently as a direct branch from the subclavian artery.
It has two branches:
- Superficial branch (also called superficial cervical artery )
- Deep branch (also called arteria dorsalis scapulae )
The branches provide different muscles in the throat, neck and shoulder area.
