Trappensee

The Trappensee is an approximately 0.6 -acre lake in Heilbronn in Baden- Württemberg.

Geographical location

The Trappensee lies at the western foot of the mountains Heilbronner about 2.5 km east of Heilbronn town center in a valley at 183 m above sea level. NN. History

The lake already existed in the 16th century. He was once called after its owner, the mayor Philip Orth (1534-1603), Orthensee. Orth, built 1575/76 there is a farm with fruit growing and fish farming, leaving middle of the water to build a mansion. The property was, from 1653, after the lake was owned by the Mayor Ludwig Trapp ( 1596-1655 ), its present name Trappensee. The so-called Trappenseeschlösschen, a little water castle in the middle of the lake, leaving the Dutch Admiral Heinrich August Kinkel (or Kinckel ) establish, after he had come into the possession of the plant in 1784.
