Geography

Geographical Location

The community Trausnitz is located at the lower reaches of the river in Pfreimd Pfreimdtal and part of the Natural Park Upper Palatinate Forest.

History

The village was part of the Electorate of Bavaria and formed before 1800 a closed Hofmark the barons of Hannakam. Actually Baron 1800 had taken over the Hofmark of Karg, but its judicial claims were up for sale the 1830 Hofmark always controversial. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria had arisen with the community of 1818, the current community.

Incorporations

In 1946 the district was the Obertrausnitz incorporated formerly independent municipality Bernhof. Söllitz was incorporated on May 1, 1978 in the municipality of Trausnitz.

Others

In the municipal area, which was built in 1955 and now operated by E.ON Pumpspeicherwerk Reisach lies with two reservoirs ( high memory Rabenleite ). The power plant has a power output of 135,000 kWh. An information center provides information on the generation of electricity in hydroelectric plants. The singer Rolf Stahlhofen (among Söhne Mannheims ) grew up in the district Atzenhof and attended elementary school in Trausnitz.
