The recordings began in Bel Air ( California ) in the Wilbury Mountain Studio, where most of the instruments were recorded, they ranged from March to May 1990. The final work for the album, as the vocals, the import of other instruments and mixtures were made in George Harrison's studio in July 1990. A total of fifteen songs were recorded. Due to scheduling problems by Bob Dylan, he added in advance to most tracks added his vocals. The remaining members of the band could then decide what songs they wanted to sing on new.
