A traveling exhibition is an exhibition that is not tied to a fixed location, but at intervals the location changes.
Traveling exhibitions can include all areas that are otherwise topics of exhibitions, whether it be art, education, entertainment, or whatever. A special case are so-called migrant cabinets.
Traveling exhibitions can be specially formulated so that the issue resolved by the end of the walking phase and the objects are distributed in different collections. Sometimes it also happens that a traveling exhibition by the end of the walking phase is completely or partially integrated into the permanent collection of a museum or similar institution.
