Traverse Gap

The Traverse Gap is a dry fallen glacial river bed in Minnesota.

It lies on the border of the U.S. states of Minnesota and South Dakota between Lake Traverse and Big Stone Lake. Across the Traverse Gap is the watershed between the Atlantic and the Arctic Ocean. A special feature is that sometimes could drain water of a river basin to the other side through the gap in case of flooding. This is therefore a special feature, because continental watersheds are clearly determined usually by altitude and only move in geological time.
