Travis Dodd

Gareth Travis Dodd ( born January 6, 1980 in Adelaide ) is an Australian football player. The offensive player is since 2011 the A- League club Perth Glory under contract. He was the first footballer from the ethnic group of Aborigines who achieved a hit in the Australian national football team.

Club career

Dodd came in 1996 by the South Australian Sports Institute in the National Soccer League ( NSL) to Adelaide City Force and was there at the age of 16 years and 281 days, his league debut. In 1999 he moved to the Newcastle Breakers, but they were already retired from playing the NSL in 2000 and replaced by the newly founded club Newcastle United, with the Dodd also found shelter. The 2003/04 season, the last before the setting of the NSL, he spent at Parramatta Power.

The offensive player then played for a few months in Johor FC in Malaysia before he went to Panionios Athens to Greece. He then returned back to Australia in 2005 and signed in the newly formed A-League with Adelaide United.

In May 2007, Dodd succeeded in the AFC Champions League match against Dong Tâm Long An as the first Australians a hat-trick.
