Travis Hansen

Travis Mitchell Hansen ( born April 15, 1978 in Provo ) is an American professional basketball player. His positions are those of the small forwards or shooting guards. Since 2010 he plays for the BK Khimki.

Career

Travis Hansen began his college career at Utah Valley University. After his mother had died from the effects of a pancreatic tumor, Hansen spent two years as a Mormon missionary in Santiago de Chile. Between 2000 and 2003 he played back in his homeland for the Brigham Young University in the Mountain West Conference College basketball. When NBA Draft 2003, he was, drafted the first basketball player at Brigham Young University since Shawn Bradley (1993). He was taken as the 37th pick by the Atlanta Hawks under contract.

In the NBA, he brought it to the following season only to 41 inserts and so he decided to move to Spain to a TAU Vitoria. With the Basques, he won the 2005 Super Cup and reached the final of the Euro League, in 2006 he won with his team the Spanish Cup. Between 2006 and 2009 he was active for the Russian club Dynamo Moscow and received in this time, the Russian citizenship before he again to Spain, Real Madrid, changed. There he played until the summer of 2010. For the season 2010/2011 he was awarded a new contract in Madrid. In December 2010, he undertook the Russian first division club BK Khimki.

Travis Hansen co-founded with his wife, a foundation with the name Little Heroes Foundation, which is dedicated to children in need.
