Travis Roche

Travis Roche ( born June 17, 1978 in Grande Cache, Alberta ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. Since 2008 he plays for SC Bern in the Swiss National League A.

Career

Roche was initially for the Trail Smoke Eaters in the British Columbia Hockey League, a unterklassige Canadian junior league, active before the defender from the 1998/99 season for the ice hockey team of the University of North Dakota on the ice went, for which the Canadians ran aground three seasons. In April 2001, he signed as a free agent contract with the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League. Most of the contract period, he completed but for the AHL team of the Houston Aeros. There he won the 2002 Yanick Dupre Memorial Award and won a year later with the team the Calder Cup. In 2004 he was taken from the NHL team Atlanta Thrashers under contract but played in turn most of the time in their farm team for the Chicago Wolves. In summer 2006, Roche signed with the Phoenix Coyotes, where he was able to record his first goal in the NHL on December 16 of the same year.

In the 2009/10 season he won the Swiss championship with the SC Bern. In early September 2011, he extended his end of season 2011/12 expiring contract early for another two years.
