Travis Walker

Travis Walker ( born June 22, 1979 in Tallahassee, United States) is an American heavyweight boxer.

Amateur career

Walker won the 2003 the famous American Golden Gloves tournament, was at the super heavyweight but always in the shadow of his compatriot Jason Estrada, who beat him three times and he denied a part in the Olympics. His fight record as an amateur was 26-8.

Pro career

In 2004, Walker moved on to the pros. It was initially set up very carefully and got for his fights in the U.S. press rather muted reviews.

The first fight with a well-known opponents took place in November 2006 against his old archrival Estrada, he could hit surprisingly close on points. In April 2007 he defeated George Garcia, a further and hitherto undefeated as a professional former amateur star, he was defeated in his amateur time, also just on points.

His first defeat suffered Walker on 19 October 2007 by technical knockout after just 15 seconds of the first round against TJ Wilson. Wilson pushed him into a corner and landed several heavy hits, which caused the referee to quickly abort, although Walker did not go to the ground. He won the rematch four months later by technical knockout in round two.

On 29 November 2008 he boxed against the undefeated Chris Arreola. Although he scored in the second round of a precipitate, but did not, by itself and instead went twice to the ground. After a third down by the Arreola fight was stopped at the start of the third round.

In 2009, Walker won early against three construction opponent before he suffered his third knockout loss in July 2009 against Manuel Quezada. On 20 March 2010, he boxed in the main program of the fight Wladimir Klitschko vs. Eddie Chambers in Dusseldorf against Johnathon Banks and defeated by Ko in the sixth round.

Other well-known opponent punched Walker then in November 2010 with former world champion Ruslan Tschagajew and in October 2011 with Kubrat Pulew, which he was subject in each case on points.
