The decommissioned Trawsfynydd nuclear power station located in the United Kingdom in Trawsfynydd, Gwynedd, Wales, and was in operation from 1965 to 1991. The nuclear power plant with two blocks was the only one in the country of Wales.
Reactors
The Trawsfynydd nuclear power station consisted of two reactor units. Both reactors were Magnox reactors with a net electrical output of 195 MWe and a gross electrical output of 235 MWe. Construction of both reactors was on 1 July 1959. The first reactor block was first critically on September 1, 1964. On 14 January 1965, the first reactor unit to the power supply was synchronized on 2 February in the same year the second. On March 24, 1965, both reactors went into commercial operation. On February 4, 1991, the second reactor block was turned off, two days later the first.
