Treacher Collins syndrome

The Treacher Collins syndrome (synonyms: Franceschetti - Zwahlen syndrome, Berry syndrome or dysostosis mandibulofacialis ) is an inherited disorder that leads to facial malformations ( craniofacial dysmorphism ). Regard to the characteristics include absence or malformation of ear and cheek bone, cleft palate, " receding " chin, and Augenlidabnormitäten. The severity is variable. Often occurs on a conductive hearing loss that can be compensated under certain circumstances by a bone conduction hearing aid or a bone anchored hearing aid. The syndrome is named after Edward Treacher Collins and Adolphe Franceschetti.

Treacher Collins syndrome is inherited as an autosomal dominant.
