Treasure map

A treasure map is a map or a map in which a hidden, mostly buried treasure is found, or at least hints are given to his discovery.

The topic is up to the present time used in literature and art since ancient times. The most famous novel, which has a treasure map of the topic is Treasure Island by Robert L. Stevenson.

Use are also found in games such as terrain in the popular children's scavenger hunt. The motif of the treasure map, together with the associated saying " X marks the spot " is also often used in movies and comic books, for example in the Indiana Jones series.
